Back to School
Today, I head back to school. This is my last first day.
There are lots of unknowns this year. We have a lovely new principal, a new assistant principal. A short-term librarian.
There are some knowns too. I will no longer be the Beginning Teacher Coordinator, the school webmaster, the newsletter editor. I will no longer be on county committees, pursue licensures, plan arrival and dismissal schedules, or put together duty rosters.
I am short term. I am leaving.
Before this year, I thought I was a lifer in the school system. I like my work. I couldn’t think of anything I’d rather do.
But God . . .
That phrase, “but God . . .”, is now regularly uttered.
I had no idea the turn my life would take, but I know God knew long ago. Before He made me He knew where I would be, what I would be feeling, this very last first day of my career. The beginning of the end of a chapter. A precursor to a new adventure.
But God! They will miss you dearly Ms. Bitsy, but a new journey awaits 12/01/23. Praying you have an easy trail to ride until then.
ReplyDeleteBut God! Never ceases to amaze us with the trails he opens for us. Enjoy the ride!
