Sunshine & Snow

Al and I spent March in Mesa Arizona. Warm and sunny most of the time. Walking, playing pickle ball, shopping antique and resale shops. Wearing shorts! It was gloriously full of warmth.  When we left the ranch, it was snowing. When we came back, it was snowing again. When it hasn't been snowing it's been cold.  Really cold.  Still cold. I've been thinking about the South and how different this is from the other places I've lived. In the South, we'd already have more warmth than cold. I'd be trying to decide how to dress because the morning would be chilly and then we'd have to go out for afternoon cars.  Here, it's flannel shirts and blue jeans. Boots if I have to go out.  There is a calmness watching the cattle in the falling snow. Everything is peaceful from my window view.  Peaceful. But not.  This moment on the ranch is full of activity. Calves born at all hours of the day and night. Someone checks multiple times throughout the day and night to make
