Christmas trees
For the first time in my life, I went tree hunting. Hunting in the woods on the Fish and Cross Ranch.
I had to wear muck boots that came up to my knees. Even in a year when snow is not as plentiful, it's deep in places. We traveled in a Jeep with snow tracks, and I found it’s almost as difficult to get in one of those as it is to get on a horse.
We didn’t have to look long before we found a fabulous tree. Right now, I’m sitting in the dark looking at the lights twinkle on this beautiful tree, hoping to get all the ornaments on today, and move the ladder out of the living room.
Maybe that will happen before tomorrow. It’s an awfully big tree though.
Al keeps saying it’s a small tree. Next Christmas I might be writing about a new adventure in huge tree trimming and remember this year’s tree as small in comparison.
But this year, I’m savoring a very early morning with a cup of hot coffee. Looking forward to celebrating this special day with Al. The day when God showed His abundant love for us in sending His Son.
That while we were yet sinners, Christ came for us.
Born in a manger. Died on a cross. Rose from the grave.
That while we were yet sinners, we could live life abundantly.
